4 Step SEO Strategy That Neil Patel Also Uses to Rank In 2020

SEO is becoming challenging with every passing year. It takes more time to rank keywords and thus becomes costly. However, what should be done to leverage SEO benefits that also wont take forever. The process is simple and suggested by Neil Patel, which he himself uses for his business. Here is what needs to be done in 2019:

# 1 Using Less Competitive Keyword Phrases Using Google Correlate

We have all heard about keywords and how important Keyword research is for bringing the right visitors. But how do you target high traffic keywords that also have a buyer intent without waiting for several months to get results? Google Correlate is the answer. You can enter the search terms that you want to rank for and the tool will help you see relevant phrases that people are typing in around that keyword. The benefit of doing this is that those phrases won’t be that difficult to rank. For example if your search term is “SEO Company” than type it in Google Correlate to see other search terms around it.

You can then produce content around those keywords and that’s how you will be able to target customers to your website. However, you will need to continuously check the trends as they change from time to time to keep on producing the content and ideas that people are interested in consuming.

#2: Expanding for New Terms

You can increase your traffic using new terms but that would require patience. However, you can achieve that quite quickly through Google Search Console. Just login and click on “performance” section to see the terms that you are already ranking for. Click on pages to see a report that displays a URL ranking for different terms on Google. Keep this URL in mind as you will have to edit this page.

Use UberSuggest and insert that term to see different Keyword ideas. Pull the ideas that have buyer intent and adjust your content for those keywords. Do not stuff your content as that would otherwise become spammy. Keep it natural and well optimized to have your page rank for those long term phrases within 30 to 60 days. The key here is to look for terms that will cause a lead or a sale instead of traffic numbers.

Step #3: Focus on Building a Brand

Google loves brands. This means you need to focus on building your business a brand for Google to give you the search traffic you are interested in. It doesn’t matter if its a personal, B2C or a B2B business model, you can work on its branding.

Try to offer something that your competitors are not. If you do the same old tricks you will die in your competition, however, if you give something different people, you will attract customers. If you are a blog, you can indulge video marketing, detailed guides about the topics people are interested in searching, help people find solution to their issues etc.

For business sites, you can add some offer with your services. You may have heard about “buy 1 get 1 free” type of promo service, well brainstorm some creative ideas such as these to stay ahead of your competition.

Step#4 Build a Linkable Resource

Build a resource that people love to link to naturally. You can create in-depth guides, videos etc, however since everyone is doing that, it won’t impact the results as it used to. Just like Step#3 you need to bring in some extra flavor to the resources you are generating compared to the ones generated by your competitors. How About using some animated infographics? Those have the capacity to go viral and generate some links.

These methods if implemented correctly as a part of your SEO strategy by a digital marketing agency will be able to deliver results that you want for your site in 2020.
