APPLIED MATHEMATICS-II

Provide understanding of basic elements of differential calculus, integral calculus and statistics to apply them in engineering field.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • calculate the effect of one variable with respect to another variable at a point by understanding and application of basics concepts of derivatives.
  • calculate after understanding the concept of derivatives the maximum and minimum values of a function.
  • evaluate complex integrals in a simpler way by applying definite integral.
  • calculate the approximate area under a curve by applying Numerical Integration by using Trapezoidal and Simpson’s Rules.
  • calculate and optimize the utilization of limited resources by applying basics concepts of Linear Programming.
  • use variable seperable method in finding solution of a differential equation.

APPLIED PHYSICS LABORATORY- II

Familiarizing with the basic experimental techniques required to find fundamental parameters in physics.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • apply the conceptual knowledge to various engineering applications.
  • describe the methodology of science and the relationship between observation and theory.
  • analyze basic experimental techniques required to find fundamentals parameters in physics.

APPLIED PHYSICS-II

Provide an understanding of this world both by observation and prediction of the way in which objects behave.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • discuss about types of wave, their properties and engineering applications.
  • describe the fundamental phenomenon of optics, working of optical instruments like microscope, telescope and their utility in scientific applications.
  • state the concept of electrostatics and coulombs laws related to it.
  • identify the basic concepts of electricity, its advantages and applications.
  • differentiate the types of magnetic materials, magnetic field and engineering applications of electromagnetism.
  • outline the concepts of semiconductor physics and its applications in many technological devices used in daily life.

BASIC ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

Introduction of the fundamental concepts of electricity and electronics that involve direct current, alternating current, series and parallel resistive circuits, inductance, capacitance, transformers, motors, electronic components, and various types of test equipment found in industry.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • Remember the electrical quantities and various circuits
  • Understand the design of various electrical circuits..
  • Apply the basic concepts and theorems in solving the electrical networks.
  • Analyze the concept of AC and DC circuits.
  • Evaluate the results of varoius electrical networks.
  • Understand the applications of electrical engineering.

BASIC ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING LABORATORY

Gain practical exposure through performing experiments related to basic concepts of electronics and Electrical Engineering in this lab and develop skills in circuit formulation and obtaining the desired output results.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • Remember the working principles and operation of different instruments.
  • Understand the basic concepts and principles of dc and ac fundamental, ac circuits, batteries, electromagnetic induction, voltage and current sources etc.
  • Apply the basic concepts and theorems in solving the electrical networks.
  • Analyze the working principle of various electrical machines and equipments.
  • Evaluate the results through the parameters obtained after working on the electrical networks.
  • Understand the applications of electrical engineering

BASIC ELECTRONICS

Provide an introduction to study of basic electronics technology and teaches students how to diagnose, repair, design and create electronics components. Also will introduce the application of basic electronics in real world.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • Analyze semiconductor basics and their applications in daily life.
  • Understand the transistors, their applications and biasing techniques.
  • Understand the functionality of FET & MOSFET and their uses.

BASIC ELECTRONICS LABORATORY

Gain practical exposure through performing experiments related to basic concepts of electronics in this lab. Students develop skills in circuit formulation and obtaining the desired output results.Also will introduce the application of basic electronics in real world.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • Verify the functionality of PN diode and zener diode.
  • Understand the practical features of half-wave and full-wave rectifier without using filters.
  • Analyze the input and output characteristics of a NPN transistor in common emitter configuration
  • Examine and implement transistor as an amplifier in common emitter configuration.
  • Analyze the design of FET as an amplifier and study its characteristics.
  • Know the implementation of rectifier with various types of filters.

ENGLISH AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS -II

This course imparts the better writing skills by sensitizing the learners to the dynamics of effective writing.The students begin to communicate in simple everyday situations acquiring basic grammatical structure and vocabulary. Further,this course develops the writing and reading comprehension skills

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • extend reading comprehension skills in grammar integrated passages
  • develop academic vocabulary for functional usage
  • integrate core grammatical skills for functional usage
  • review formal writing skills in drafting various administrative and professional documents

ENGLISH AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS-II LABORATORY

This course empower the students ability to discuss and respond to content of a listening passages. This course helps to understand communication strategies to participate in group discussions. It helps them to cognize the various effective speaking strategies.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • develop active listening skills while practicing note taking, drawing inferences and summarising content of famous speeches in specific and any discussion in general
  • express component of delivery in oral presentation through speech modulation
  • visualize employability aspect of effective communication through group discussion
  • develop the argumentative skills through debates and seminar

ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES

Impart knowledge of balancing ecosystem and controlling pollution by pollution control measures. Focuses on different types of pollution caused due to industries and constructional activities.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • analyze and comprehend the importance of ecosystem and sustainable development.
  • apply the concept of energy management, energy conservation and energy efficiency.
  • visualize the energy efficient techniques in day-to-day life and industrial processes.
  • state and explain the environmental legislation acts.
  • read and identify different types of environmental pollution and control measures.
  • discuss and analyze the impact of human activities on the environment.

GENERAL WORKSHOP PRACTICE-II

This course will provide basic understanding of parametric modeling and basics of advanced commands on CREO software by using sweep, blend and swept blend , helcial sweep, reference manager etc.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • Demonstrate various operations in shops and enhance their tool handling skills related to different shops.
  • Review skills of the students and inculcate the best practical skills in them by performing various jobs.
  • Observe the various challenges faced by the students to prepare real life products.

STUDENT CENTERED ACTIVITY-II

Introduction to learning experiences, instructional approaches, and academic-support strategies that are intended to address the distinct learning needs, interests, aspirations, or cultural backgrounds of individual students. This course will build up the personality of the students.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • determine their independent and original work of practical importance.
  • identify and use the rigorous methods to solve problems related to a substantive area of the study.
  • discuss and integrate the knowledge and skills gained during program to generate new knowledge.
  • estimate and develop a systematic framework for analyzing the behavior of large and complex person.
